The company "St. Petersburg Classical Ballet of Andrey Batalov" it is created by Andrei Batalov - first soloist at the Mariinski Theater.
Graduate of Russia's Vaganova Ballet Academy, Andrei Batalov has been on stage for more than 20 years. In 1992 he became a soloist of the "Mussorgsky" State Academic Theater in St. Petersburg and two years later, he became the first soloist of the Mariinski Theater. He belongs to a rare breed of virtuoso dancers. His extraordinary technique allows to put him on par with the legendary ballet dancers of the past and present from Vestris and Nijinsky to Baryshnikov and Julio Bocca. He owns a unique collection of awards from different international ballet competitions. Today Batalov not only dances himself, but also teaches others - since 2010 he is a choreographer of the Mihailovski Theater. Among his graduates, for example, the renowned Leonid Sarafanov. And, in 2014, opened in St. Petersburg, the Classic Ballet Theater, where he became artistic director.
